I don't know much about burning Wii ISOs, but I think I read that they are loaded a 1/2 speed. Also, what does the burning speed mean? Like 2x and 4x

I guess I'm just asking for a crash course in Wii DVD stuff

Well, firstly, can your wii play DVDS? The newer ones blocked that out, so it would be nice to know before you start burning wii games.

Yeah. I burned Conduit 2 and it loaded super slow, but when I transferred it to my USB drive it worked fine

Playing on USB would be the better way to go imo, faster loading and less glitches.

But it could be a bad burn or media. By "it loaded superslow" did you mean that the loading times were long or that the game was super slow.

    Verbatim 16x DVD-R
And by "loaded super slow" I mean like when I pick up a weapon it takes forever to actually pick it up, and I have to sit in front of doors forever before they open. I'm going to DVD cuz I'm out of USB room

In that case it's likely your Wii's laser being weak, scratched, or dirty. Do any other DVD burned games act like this?

Burning speed is exactly what it sounds like, the speed at which the computer writes data to the disk. What did you burn Conduit 2 on? I recommend you pick the slowest time your drive can handle.

2x and 4x are the most recommended burning speeds, so use those. Try using 2x though, the slowest it can go when you try and burn another game.

Do burned DVDs read slower than Wii discs? How fast is USB loading compared to the other two?

USB Loading tends to be faster then dvd since it doesn't have to put any ware on the dvd laser, which will start to burn out over time, which will lead to it taking longer for things to load or flat out not load at all. Plus it fixes problems and you wouldn't have to reburn games in case you got a bad iso, you just take it off and replace it with the good iso.

I just need to invest in an External HD. DVDs are my only option at the moment, my flash drives are full.

Well, with the problems you telling us it could either be a bad burn or media. Try what we suggested and do another game.

In a way yes, it depends on the backup, and how much ware the laser has been through. Any dvd backup could run fine as long as it's burned correctly and that the drive is fine.

EDIT: Here's a video I found comparing the two (Sort of old but it should show you.)
