well, i got the idea to hopefully compile a list of our favorite movies into one thread. maybe it'll get stickied or something...
I used to work at a movie store, so i just made the same categories that we had there (Action, Drama, Horror, Mystery/Suspense, Comedy, Foreign, Special Interest[cult classics, musicals, and anime] and Classics), i've deciced not to make a category for Fantasy, because most fantasy movies can fall into other categories.... Please let me know if i've missed anything that wont fit into any of these... and i know that some can span genre's (expecially action/comedy [ie. kiss kiss bang bang should be in the mystery/action/comedy section], but we'll just try to classify them the best we can(or go by what IMDB has it as).

I was actually considering combing old threads and doing something like this as well.
Here's some of the "movie threads" from this year. I don't have much time today to contribute more than that.

I think a sticky is a good idea... but the Master will have to be consulted...
    *consults Amulet of Agamotto*
That is odd! There is no response from the enchanted amulet!
It can mean only one thing... THE MASTER IS IN TERRIBLE JEOPARDY!

well, thats because someone switched your amulet with a magic 8 ball covered in tin foil....

but, i disgress, does anyone think we should add any more specific categories? i cant think of any off the top of my head that wouldnt fit in those categories... Most fantasy falls into an action/sci-fi movies. Almost all crime movies are under action, and most romance movies fall under drama.... if you can think of any others, let me know.... do we want a kid's section to post all our childhood favorites?

My childhood favorites: Transformers the Movie (1986) and Urotsukidoji. Yes, Urotsukidoji, since some fucktard from the video shop was smart enough to put it into the children's section and me being the curious piece of shit that I am, rented it.

ALSO, in before Shadowboy suggesting to add a Hentai category.

Off the top of my head, I can think of Westerns and Musicals as two more possible categories. Maybe a television/collections category too. Also as some already suggested, a Children's category should be added.

It turns out I like many of the movies off of the list posted, so I won't repeat those ones, but here's a few other favorites of mine:

    The Silence of the Lambs
    Traffic
    Dumb and Dumber
    Caddyshack
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
    Animal House
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Golden Voyage of Sinbad, Sinbad & The Eye of the Tiger
    Jason and The Argonauts (1963)
    The Prestige
    Stranger Than Fiction
    Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Goodfellas
    The Jerk
    Austin Powers 1 + 2
    Pulp Fiction
    Gangs of New York
    2001: A Space Odyssey
    Man on Fire

And probably many more that I can't think of right now.

Why you not have Unbreakable? (Donno what that would be classified under, but it pwns anyways)
    And add Gattaca.

    Also, some animes to add:
    My Neighbor Totoro
    Princess Mononoke
    Spirited Away
(Pretty much everything else by Miyazaki...)

And yes to the Children's section, you should also add a Musical Section, Anime section, and maybe a Western section.
