I was just wondering. Who are the people that dump roms? are they groups, just a single person? How do they get the money to get these games? How do they stay with it and keep up for so long? How do they get the games from other countries? and can anyone be a dumper?

I'm sorry if this is inappropriate to ask but I was just curious.

Well in the 90s I can vouch for a pair that put up 100s of the NES games from the NA region where one would get them as donations/flea market buys and then would use his custom tool to drop the raw data.

The other would then put the data into the right form and then create an iNES (.nes file) header on top so that the emulators could run it, then packaged it with an NFO file and dumped it into the wild in a nice zip with a few games in each package. [IMG] I can't say more, things could get incriminating.

Or there's also a method where it writes to an EZ Flash 3-in-1
But that takes forever because if the game is over 32MB because you had to do it part by part. [IMG]

This decade yes. I have my brand on around 6 GBA USA releases from some years back. Now it's just about having a kit, getting the game first, and then getting it online the fastest.
