Is it just me or does it sound extremely close to Glameow's?
Of course my ears may just be failing me because I'm tired....

Well, you are right. They are VERY similar.

Glameow's is just a bit more pitch-intensive.

Yea I knew the pitch was different I just kept hearing ducklett on the bridge and I kept thinking of a cry from platinum. Well I searched it up later and it turns out I was thinking of Glameow. It just sounded the same to me.

I agree. I reckon they just cut off the last syllable in Glameow's to make Ducklett's cry lol off topic, Ducklett's seems unimaginative in design-wise

Charizard and Rhyhorn's cries are exactly the same, and that's not the only exact match.

FYI, Zapdos has the same cry as Missingno.

Missingno doesn't count. Its a glitch/scrapped/ghost pokémon anyway.

...And then of course I had to research it and had to duct tape my head to my shoulders because apparently.....

Chansey and Pidgeot have the same cry, and so do Paras and Mewtwo.

...And Omanyte and Machop do.

Omanyte and Machop match up, but the other pairs are slightly different.
But another exact match-up is Poliwag and Ditto.

Fun fact: There are only 37 different cries in Generation 1, and each cry is altered slightly for each Pokémon (with a few exceptions) to spread out the cries for all 151 Pokémon.
For Generation 2, 30 more cries were added to the mix, however some of the new Pokémon still used alterations of the Gen 1 cries (ex. evolutions of Gen 1 Pokémon such as Crobat).
