Hacking DSTT Firmware extemely slow

I am unable to use the original TTMENU because scrolling through my games list is extremely slow, I don't seem to have this problem with YSMENU though so i'm not sure why.

I have about 60 games in my list and on an 8GB card, Ysmenu goes slow compared to wood on my R4 but it's still fast enough to scroll, TTmenu goes so slow i have to wait about 2 seconds to go down one game on the list!, so im am unable to use it.

Anyone else have this problem?
Is it just because i have so many games?

Did you try reformatting it? And make sure you have the latest firmware which is 1.17a12, v6.40 dat files.
You can get the latest .dat's from here http://gbatemp.net/t267243-retrogamefan-updates-releases?
In the v6.40 package, in "Extras" there's Panasonic SD formatter, so you could try that to reformat.

Try putting the games into a folder rather than keeping them all on the root.

Your microSD is bad, bad access time...

If you try a card with a GOOD access time, scrolling in the game link will be faster

But how to work the DSTT kernel, cant offer you a scroll speed like Acekard for example!

Because, DSTT kernel, read and identify every game before,
and the Acekard kernel (AKAIO too) just show the list,
and read+identify after you select a game!!!

it is ONLY the access time!

Access time, need quality for obtain it... It's reason why it is so rare!!!

Kingston buy their "Flash memory" everywhere...

At start, when they can sold for a good price, it was "Toshiba flash memory" with the famous "JAPAN" on the microSD
Just when the price goes down, they change for "china or taiwan" and it was the start of the END

Sandisk creat "ULTRA" and after "ULTRA 2", the pric, at this time, was 100$ for a 2GB microSD card!!!
After they creat the "CLASS" 2 and 6... the pric continue to goes down,
they change Class 6 to Class 4...

Sandisk is a Big chit... Exept for some Compact flash for Professional use!!!

Transced is good sometime... Samsung is good but RARE and you can fall on fake!!!

Chinese market have "no name" microSD, and these microSD can be better than a kingston or sandisk!!!

The fault of the people who always to pay less, and less, and less...

I know what you mean. I used to have a kingston taiwan 2gb. My DSTT was SUPER slow. I just changed it to a Lexar 4gb SDHC. Now it's SUPER fast.

Pretty sure I'm still using a fake 2GB kingston from 3 years+ ago. Still works perfect. I got it from dealextreme so pretty sure it's fake. My DSTT is legit though, it was the one's the came in the box.

never buy a microSD from this shop,

Yeah it's a no-name brand!(possibly PNY), i do have another 8gb sandisk but im using it in my psp and swapping them would require a lot of work.

I tested the 2gb sandisk from my R4 in my DSTT and it was much much faster. I don't think the games are affected by the access time too much??, although the sims 3 does seem to crash on my dstt alot.

Any games that CAN'T be put on a card with bad access time? im guessing castelvania is one
