Hacking DSTT expantion

A mate of mine wants to get a DSTT but has a phat ds is there any way to make the expansion work on the original ds?

The eWin GBA expansion pak that is sometimes bundled with the DSTT only works with the Lite. I believe you can get a version of the EZFlash 3-in-1 GBA expansion and rumble that work with the original DS.
