I just started using my DSTT with my DS Lite a couple weeks ago, and it seems that since then my DS doesn't last on a single battery charge as long as it used to. I feel like the power is draining more quickly than it did when playing standard DS games. Has anyone else noticed this or encountered this issue with this or any other slot-1 devices?

did you set the brightness to a lower level?

A fresh installed TTDS firmware automatically sets the brightness to max

Slot-1 cards do use a little more power, but it shouldn't shave the battery life off by more than 20 min....

Perhaps you are playing too much

It's probably the brightness as rcm1 suggested. That happened to me, and I never noticed that the brightness had been changed after installing a new DSTT until the battery went out sooner than expected.

I have experience that too. Both my brother's M3Real and my DSTT shortens the life of the battery. I think it's because the flash cart has to draw power from the DS and power the microsd card.

Ah-HA! I didn't realize the brightness was set up to max! I usually keep mine around 3/4 up... I lowered the brightness a bit and I got quite a bit more play time out of one charge....mexcellent.

The're batteries with more power for the DS, normal power is 1000mAh but I saw them up to 2400mAh so you can play much longer and the're no so expensive, about $5.

Is it safe to use the more powerful batteries? No chance of harming the DS?

It's not the Ampere (capacity) that harmed your stuff, It's the Volt. For the DS lite it must be 3.7V.
So you can use high Ampere (mAh) batteries.

Can anyone post a link to a good battery they'd recommend?

I bought one of those, because it had positive comments (that it is lasting like original nintendo battery). Still waiting for package though.
