I think it would be a good idea to give the DSi it's own subforum since it seems none of the hacks for the older DS seems to work on the DSi.

I know this site already has many subforums, but just a general DSi hacking discussion forum would be nice.

Also you might want to consider some consolidation. Not saying that each subforum doesn't have a purpose, but some could be considered redundant.

I'm not sure how often the Game Hint sections get used considering the internet and google are such a great resource for that information. Also, I don't see that many topics/replies there compared to the other sections. Maybe a single subforum for Game tips.

The Wi-Fi sections could be condensed into one and I am assuming it's main use is for support getting WiFi to work with either the Wii or DS. Maybe a single general WiFi subforum as it also doesn't seem to have that much activity.

The General Consoles and Other Consoles forums could be merged as well.

Anyway, just some suggestions. I still think the site is a great resource. Thanks.

While I don't think a dsi forum is needed yet, I agree that there are some unneeded forums right now.

I disagree, I think that there is plenty of homebrew and hacks JUST for dsi since Nintendo can update it. A forum is highly necessary.

Might be good, might not be good too. We'll let Costy decide on this.

These are just some suggestions I have come up with.

This would be the basic Forum structure:

    GBAtemp
    -Magazine News
-Magazine Reviews (Leaving these first two alone)
    -Guides and FAQs
    -User Submitted News
    -GBAtemp Contest and Polls
    -Site Feedback (site discussions\suggestions\bugs)

    Gameboy Advance
    -GBA - Emulation
-GBA - Hardware, Devices and Utilities *
-GBA - Flashing Hardware and Software *
-GBA - Game Development, ROM Hacking and translations *

    Nintendo DS
    -NDS - Emulation
-NDS - Hardware, Devices and Utilities *
-NDS - Flashing Hardware and Software *
-NDS - ROM Hacking and Translations *
    -NDS - Homebrew Games & Applications *
-NDS - DSi Only (Plan for the future [IMG])

    Nintendo Wii
    -Wii - Emulation
-Wii - Hardware, Devices and Utilities *
    -Wii - Hacking
    -Wii - Backup Loaders
    -Wii - Homebrew Games & Applications *

    Technical
-WiFi (All WiFi sections merged. All Sub Forums merged... I don't think all of that is necessary) **
-Sony PSP (I'll leave it because I know GBATemp focuses on portables)
-Other Consoles (I'll leave the subforums)
    -Computer Hardware

    General
I see a lot of redundancy here
-Introductions (Personally I would X this one)
    -Off-Topic(General Off-Topic Chat\The Edge of the Forum)
-Gaming (General Discussion about ALL games and consoles)
-Game Tips(All Game tip sections merged)
    -Trading Forum
    -Blogs

Originally this site has 39 primary forums, not counting sub forums. If you use all of my suggestions you'll end up with 31.

Not a HUGE leap, but I think it really tidies things up.

Well, hopefully you consider some of my changes. I think it would really bring the sites primary resources into focus.

I was just REALLY bored at work :X

*I just find these names a bit wordy.

^Edit: HA... caught this one at the last second...^ *really bored*

    Suggestions:

Hardware, Devices and Utilities -> Technical

Flashing Hardware and Software -> Flash Kits Etc

Game Development, ROM Hacking and Translations -> Game Dev, Rom Hacks & Translations

ROM Hacking and Translations -> Rom Hacks & Translations

Homebrew Games & Applications -> Homebrew

I appreciate any other suggestions... as I honestly didn't put much thought or effort into these :X

^I mark this line as flame-worthy... ^ Autoresponse: you're right I put no thought or effort into any of it... *pat on the back for you*

** I know some people are going to say...

This IS necessary because of how WiFi relates to each console. I personally think this could be lumped in with the other Technical forums.

^Another flame-worthy statement...^ Autoresponse: Yes... you are right: I have no idea about hacking - I still have a valid argument that topics related to utilizing Wi-Fi capabilities in homebrew could be left elsewhere. My teacher always said: less is more... and it's not because he was some snobbish art instructor who wore white and kept his glasses on all the time (even indoors).

This was my web design instructor who understood the basic principle of having a 17" screen and having to flick the scroll wheel for ages :\

^Yet, another flame-worthy statement...^ Autoresponse: "Like I had to scroll through this @#$%#$%%#$%! for ages"... HA! Good one.

Final Note: Enforcing a "Prefix" rule on thread subject lines is another way to keep your message board more accessible and orderly.
Not saying this isn't already used in some parts of the forums, but with the changes I have made it may also be needed in other areas.

    Okay, I'm done. Cheers [IMG]

You must be the only member who flames himself/herself [IMG]

The board structure can be better, but its not bad like it is now

And I still think the board I mentioned before should be transferred to the wiki and deleted
