Gaming DSi 1000 points offer still not expired ?

Ok, so I get DSi for my birthday today, along with an R4i Gold (won't work -- i updated to 1.4 so i could get to shop. will buy an acekard2i asap). I launch DSi Shop (after updating

-- update message is thrown by system menu before connecting dsi to inet, which was strange, but someone on IRC told me that the installed shop was probably little more than a stub), I get the message "we are giving you 1000 free ninty points, blah blah" .. but I thought the offer expired on oct 5 ? odd. did ninty extend the offer ??

The offer expires on 2010-03-31.

Yes, they said it would expire on 2009-10-05 when the DSi was launched, but apparently they extended the offer (just checked the German Nintendo site).

ermm... silly point but wasn't the Europe offer meant to be 2000 points - 'cos that's what I got when I connected to the shop (mind you though that was shortly after the DSi came out in UK)
