Hacking DSFTP 2.4 + EZFlash Lite?

Can someone who has managed to make this work please post a step by step...

I downloaded 2.4, patched with the ezflash4 dldi, copied to root of card, added a data/settings/ftp.conf cloned content from website for ftp.conf, changed items to suit. Nothing wont even load. When you select it nothing happens and the ds is frozen.. If i use the GBA version it loads but is stuck at init file system. I think I am using the latest kernel... What could I be doing wrong?

how fast is 2.4... or is this more of a proof of concept than a usable app.?

add a header and rename it from .nds to .bin

Add a header? How do you do that?

I didn't need to do that, and yes the speed is fast enough to copy your saves off it for backing up.
