    DS-Xtreme News!

    Price drop, 16 Gbits version

The DS-X team have recently announced a price drop for their DS-Xtreme 4 Gbits, the retail price should now be around $99. They also announced that they will be releasing a new version of the DS-Xtreme: a 16 Gbits version (2 gigabytes), which can thus contain four times as much data as the original 4 Gbits version. According to Divineo, this new version should be available at the end of the month. We however don't have a price yet.

Thanks to O.G. for the tip.

Great news, 16 Gbit version sound great!

But how much will it cost is the big question, $200?! In my opinion its not worth that amount. Probally not even worth $150 when you can get a R4DS + 2GB card for under half of that.

Edit: Just saw http://www.divineo.cn/cgi-bin/div-cn/nds-dsxt16.html . Now that IS an interesting price, $130 for 16Gbit DS-X, now it's getting really interesting [IMG]

I hear the 16gbit will cost around the old price of the 4gbit: 129.95. The 4gbit will go down to ~100.

In my opinion $129.95 is well worth the price and people can now stop complaining about the amount of space it has.

It should still be the same firmware, but I hope they make the menu load faster in the next firmware.

bah people will just say "for that price, you can get an EZV, and and R4 and FOUR 1GB Kinstons!", which is actually true...

uh, what was my point again?

    never mind.

Well, your point is something like they should justify the price or drop it. A cart worth another DS with 2GB is not justified when R4 can do the same. For half.

I think the 16Gb N-cards are a much better deal ($42 for Expresscard from winsunx!!), given that there are around 4 different distributors making firmware for it and DLDI is supported.

If you don't have money for a ds-x go play with ur lil r4's and stop complaing about the price. If you pay that amount you get more than that of an r4 anyway. This is the superior card like it or not.

    -> modrak.. r4 can't do the same.

And what exactly can't it do? DS-X is falling from the top (and has been for a long time since R4/M3S was released)

One thing will be certain. Maxconsole will hype this up until nothing but all the posts will consist of DS-XTREME. DS XTREME.

$125USD ($146CDN) is way too much for a flash cart. They don't seem to understand. I don't know how much you can get a 2GB Micro SD but it got to be like no more than $40USD. That and a R4 is just over $70. $55 doesn't justify the fact that I can play Castlevania: POR and Tony Hawk with no problems (which isn't guaranteed to not to work on R4) and better download play compatibility. An EZ-V Bundle is $50 at Bamboogaming. That plus 2GB micro SD is $90. There is nothing that could convince me not to get that over a DS-X. We need more than a $25 price drop. 512MB should be $50 and 2GB should be $90 even if it double the price of Ultra Flashpass EX/Express Card/Fire Link.
