They just said it's useless, they didn't say it was not recommended.
DS-X Guru posted this a couple of weeks ago in relation to the beta "qkin" fix
http://forums.ds-xtreme.com/showpost.php?p...43&postcount=21
"Well,
If your unit is fine, you do not require to apply the Update (QKIN Fix).
Since the QKIN Fix is still a public beta I would not recommend doing so yet.
We could find out about a problem later on with the beta and you would be affected while you now have a perfectly fine unit. Thus, wait on a stable release when updating."
Regarding the latest firmware/hardware update to 1.1.0/1.0.1, he says
http://forums.ds-xtreme.com/showpost.php?p=27931&postcount=6
"The QKIN Fix has been worked on since the beta and it is stable now and tested on many non-qkin affected units without issues
So as it is stable, and did improve the hardware usage we did include it
Don't worry, your unit won't get issues."
However I can't find a very recent post about a guy having updated his non-qkin DS-X using latest "qkin"-only fix (not the latest firmware update on this thread) and screwing it where Rabid1 answers something like: "if your DS-X wasn't affected by qkin, you shouldn't have applied the qkin fix".
It's just I think they should have released two firmware updates at least for this time.
