DS-Xtreme FW 1.0.2 Final available!

Today as promised

The new firmware of the DS-Xtreme 4 Gbit (512 megabytes) was just released! The changelog is big and you can finally see what they have been working on for the past few weeks: there are some nice new features indeed.
Besides the changes we reported earlier - save issues fixed in (almost? tbc) all games, fixed compatibility - here is the change log:

• ID3v2 tag support in the media player

• Supports Supercard save files!

• Skin additions: a "getOSVersion" function reports the true OS version.

• The "virtual eeprom bank mapping" has been corrected

• MP3 playback fully fixed

• Partition handling fixed especially for Mac users

• Improved compatibility with a few homebrew using libfat

• LCDs are turned off when DS is closed (eg. saves battery when using media player)

• Minor optimizations in raw device access

How to update? Just download the tool using the link below. Plug the DS-X, run the program and it'll download the update and install it automatically. Bear in mind that this software is in its beta version (which they surprisingly accepted to release, someone must have pushed really hard). The update software is only for PC at the moment but this is because it's a beta. The final version will be cross-platform, and should be released "in the coming days", quoting from the DS-X team blog.

yes I think that was the point... having a single program, just run it and it does the job for you
you shouldn't even have to update the program itself so .. hopefully it's a one-time download

They haven't tried yet. They didn't get an M3 to test until yesterday, when they were too busy getting the firmware tool out the door.

Hopefully we'll see M3 support soon, I'd like to see it too.

Woot, now all those peeps that don't even have DS-X carts can stop complaning.

Lol. but they won't. I am just glad it is out because it was frustrating when you know the fix has been made, you test it, then you can't tell anybody because they do pretty much swear us to secrecy. You can't blame them though, with new prouducts being developed you want to keep everything as close to the vest as possible.

I tested it too and it's truly not working anymore

This means all the compatibility testing was more or less wasted time. There could be more games suddenly not working.
