Hey guys,
Okay so lately I haven't had much trouble with my DS-X but it suddenly started to shut off randomly, like the screen will turn black and the DS will appear to be on but nothing i can do can get back to what I was doing. Is this a common problem? I can't find my USB cable to format (hehe) so I'm just hoping that when I find it, it'll be something that got corrupt somehow and formatting will fix it. Anyone know? Thanks.

Yes, I would start with a backup/format/restore. Don't worry about trying to reinstall the firmware after you format it, the firmware updater's are off-line at the moment.
