Hacking DS won't flash

I loaded up FlashMe v8 and it started fine, I then tried to bridge the SL1 connections and the percentage didn't rise (lookingin mirror)

I then moved the paper clip around and my DS switched off (still at 0%) and this happened twice.

It's a black EU DSL.

Why won't it work?

Wrap Aluminum Foil around it, that's the only way. I tried with a screw thinking it would work, but it didn't so I wrapped it in the foil and voila!

Paper clip is a bit risky, but the foil wrapped in tape should work (I used the same).

Also another question, do I have to put the aluminium foil in between the two semi circles, like shove it right in there, or on top so it touches both?

On the top so it touches both should work (bridging the two semi-circles)

Update:

Tried it today with a toothpick covered in kitchen foil and it WORKED!
