Well, I am working on a DS for a friend. She dropped it on the floor of her garage and it hasn't turned on since. No lights show when you hit the power button. Thinking maybe it was a power button problem, I opened it up and looked for some problem. There isn't any visible problem though. I did unplug everything and plug in just the batter ( so none of the screens or other cables were plugged into the motherboard. When I hit the power button with my finger, I am able to get a green light from the power led for a few seconds. Any idea what the problem is?

Internal battery problem?

IE, internal leaking from battery?

Did you try to plug it into the AC outlet and turn it on? Was there an orange light? Did you try to turn it on with said orange light?

I had a similar problem, the green light turned on for a few seconds and then the DS shut back off. What my problem turned out to be was that something wasn't connected...I don't recall what (possibly the mic). It seems that the DS runs through a check to see if everything is in working order before turning on. Otherwise, It'll just boot, hang for a few seconds, and shut down.

Good Luck!

The only way I can get a light is when I am holding just the mother board unhooked from everything else and the battery pushed up against the place where it plugs into the mother board, then I hit the power button and I see the light for a bit. Otherwise, the light doesn't turn on.

Does a light turn on? Because unless nothing is plugged in, I can't get a light. I think plugging it into the ac is an important step, though I need an orange light.

I found out it is the top lcd screen, when I plug it in, it won't turn on, but when it isn't plugged in it turns on (the power to it can be plugged in (so it goes all white)). Anyone else have this kind of problem? I think I will have to get a new screen. There is no visible damage to it btw. It looks perfectly fine and there aren't any broken pixels.

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction

    Just kiss me Kyle.
  • x65943 @ x65943:
You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
