Hacking DS phat won't read R4 after water damage

My daughter got her DS wet and now it won't read her R4 card. The R4 works in our other DS consoled (all phat) but not in hers, but it will read standard DS games. Have tried the other R4 cards and it won't read them either.

The DS got quite wet but it has been fully dried out and as I say it works with normal DS games.

Any thoughts.

Did the R4 get wet as well? Maybe it damaged the micro sd, or some of the contacts got wet.


Wait, never mind. I've never heard of this happening before. That's rather strange.

Very strange.

Make sure the contacts on the R4 is clean, and the slot on the DS is dust free etc (just a bit of compressed air in there should do it). Unofficial carts do tend to not be read all the time quite as well as retail carts, so that might be why R4s etc aren't being read, but other carts are.

Other than that, I can only think of replacing the DS slot.

light switch cleaning fluid on the r4 contacts and insert and eject a few times with the ds lite. The cleaning fluid isn't water based so it won't do any harm to the ds or cart.
