Most of the time I boot up my DS Lite, the Easy-Flash Omega either doesn't show up on the DS Menu, or it only shows up as an Option Pak.

Have updated to the latest fw. Why is it doing this?

Such things are usually the result of poor contact between the pins.

See about cleaning the Omega and if you can then the DS pins as well (the DS lite is how many years old now and potentially sitting there exposed/in bags for how long?). Some contact cleaner (don't do the automotive stuff) if you have it is good. Some use more mechanical means like taking out and inserting the cart a whole bunch of times.
Some also fold a bit of paper a few times and wedge it between the case and PCB to force better contact.
