Hacking DS Lite top screen problem

I replaced the messed up casing on my DS lite. But now when I power it on, the top screen doesn't really turn on. It kinda just gets lines and stuff..thats about it.

That is a pic of it.

So anyone know if it is a bad connection or something?

Another thing that kept on happening was that I would power it on, the green light would come on, and the bottom screen would go on and off. It stopped doing it now.

Check the ribbon cable, I think you connected it badly.
