Do I need Unlaunch + Hiya to autoboot in to DSIMenu with my flashcart?

No, Unlaunch+Hiya is only needed for autobooting a DSi into DSiMenu++. It can't change anything about the card itself.

For some reason the file "nesds.nds" is locked on Linux. I can change the permissions to read/write, but I felt like mentioning that I noticed this.

Still can't get this to work even on newest version, been trying for 2 week's but can't get past main.srldr not found error on both my n3dsxl and old 2ds, also twloader is not working either, it just throws a arm11 fatal error when booting it, is b9s doing this cuz it was fine with a9lh?

I cant launch ds menu anymore it always crashes
After the bootscreen the error message says prefetch abort kernel panic
And the process is menu (004003000009802)

Try reinstalling the newest CIAs, and extract the "_nds" folder from the new .7z file, to the SD root. Overwrite it, if it asks you to.

b9s or a9lh have nothing to do with your issue.
Also, don't use TWLoader, as it's discontinued and no longer supported.

Thanks for the help just tried this, completely uninstalled and deleted everything related to dsimenu++ and twloader and did a fresh install of dsimenu but still I get main.srldr not found, I checked the dsimenu folder in the _nds one and main.srldr is there, could it be dsimenu is not getting read permission from my sd card?

Maybe.
Try formatting your SD card to FAT32 with 32kb cluster size.

Ok, I changed the settings to nightly. At the moment the system hangs after saving the change on white screens, but it keeps the changes.
So a short press of L+R+B+down didn't work, this time I had to hold this combi for 4-5 seconds.
Then the game didn't freeze with picture and sound like before.
But therefore a black screen comes for 2 secs, followed by a crash: ARM9 prefetch abort.

i was going to test this. but im having a problem were my games keeps freezing every time im in the underground.

Took a few hours because I have a 64gb sd card that's using 50gb atm, my laptops transfer speeds are awful but phew it worked! Thanks for the advice bro, least now anyone else having this same problem, which I saw a few people in 3dshacks reddit getting main.srldr error to, know to format there sd cards to get dsimenu working, maybe put it in the faq?
