As you can tell from the topic description, this month is indeed, bad. In fact, there's hardly anything outside of some titles that got pushbacks to this month. So copypasta!

You can read the Wii version of this thread right here

Some rules and stuff.
- No flaming. If I list a game you don't like, too bad. If I don't, too bad.
- This is mainly North American releases, sorry. I'll, on occasion, do a European or Japanese release if it's big enough and not already out in America.
- If a game is already released in English and is being released again for another region, I won't bother adding it. Like say if Super Mario Galaxy 2 was out in America in April (it won't) and it came out in May in Europe, I won't list it for May. I'll also do the same if a game was released in English (aka Europe or America) and is being released in Japan.
- I get my dates from GameFaqs, Wikipedia, and IGN, so if a date is wrong don't blame me. You can, of course, point it out and ask me to fix it if you have the right date.

Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar

Developed by: Marvelous Entertainment
Published by: Natsume
Release date: August 17th (America)
Genre: Simulation
My Hype Level: Another Harvest Moon, I never would've guessed...
GBAtemp Hype Level: It's Harvest Moon so of course I'll try it!

Copied from July.

Seriously, stop with the Harvest Moon. They just keep crapping out on Harvest Moon game after another. It's getting produced at the speed of shovelware. And it's just the same farming game we've all known, outside of some of the puzzle games and Rune Factory.

Dawn of Heroes

Developed by: Wicked Studious
Published by: Majesco
Release date: August 17th (America)
Genre: Strategy RPG
My Hype Level: I got sick of this genre a long time ago
GBAtemp Hype Level: Some minor buzz

Dawn-of-Heroes_US_BoxCover_E10boxart_160w.jpg

Copied from May.

Anyway, it's a SRPG so off the bat I'm not too interested (not that it's a bad genre, I'm just really sick of them), but it looks like it has some decent potential.

Monster Rancher DS

Developed by: Tecmo
Published by: UFO Interactive/Tecmo
Release date: August 3rd (America)
Genre: RPG? I don't know
My Hype Level: Meh, doesn't interest me
GBAtemp Hype Level: Is it gonna be delayed again

Can't dig up my old write-up so looks like I'll have to write something original. Sigh...

Well, there's not a whole lot of monster collecting games I like outside of Pokemon. I liked Monster Racers and Dragon Quest Monsters wasn't too bad, but otherwise it's not my thing. Well, Monster Rancher games have been around for a while and they're decently popular, so this may be good... Provided it's not delayed again.

Ivy the Kiwi?

Developed by: Prope
Published by: Xseed Games
Release date: August 24th (America)
Genre: Puzzle/Platformer
My Hype Level: Tried the DS version, wasn't impressed
GBAtemp Hype Level: Apparently they were impressed

No boxart around, sorry. Same write-up as the Wii one.

Ivy the Kiwi? came around not too long ago to Japan. The DS version luckily had an English translation hiding in the midst of it so once it was patched most things were English. I played a bit of that and honestly I wasn't impressed. It felt like a more constricted and worse controlling Kirby: Canvas Curse. And it was pretty frustrating and boring. But apparently people here liked it so I guess they'll be glad this is getting a localization.

Other titles

- Tetris Party Premium: 8/5 (Japan)
- Battle Spirits: Digital Starter: 8/5 (Japan)
- Dragon Quest IX: 8/19 (Australia)

Overall Summary

This month right out sucks. Everything are games that have been pushed back multiple times so they're standing on shakey ground. Everything else is crap. I had to will myself to do this write-up so don't forget to thank your writer.

Next month is better. Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions and Batman: The Brave and the Bold highlight some super hero games, while the new Professor Layton and Etrian Odyssey also pull up the month.

Have a nice August!

looks like Monster Rancher is the only game to look forward to. They better take care of any game breaking bugs though, since they held this for so long. Dawn of heroes may get pushed back again like that Zero - F-Zero ripoff

Harvest Moon, Dawn of Heroes and Monster Rancher. Not the worst month, I guess. A bit slow maybe. But then I've got my PSP's GBA emulator to keep me amused if all else fails.

*Looks*

Hmm.... Let's see my checklist....

Imagine? No. -If yes, stop here and wait for next month's releases so the failure has time to dissipate-
USA Pokemon? No.
USA Pokemon Ranger? No.
USA Chibi-Robo? No.
USA Tales? No.
Puzzle Games I'll like? No.
Rhythm Games? No.
Sims? No.
Cooking Mama and subsequent Spinoffs? No.
Wario? No.
Zelda? No.
Games I'd want to try? No.

Yep. August is shit... But at least there's not any Imagine games coming out.
