is this real?? someone says that you can even play PSP and PSX (PS1) on your DS by the help of Win2DS ... actually i think it would be laggy but it will depend on your Computer and Internet right so maybe it could be done.....

Reminder: to those who were saying imposible DS cant handle the PSP/PSX.... this is different from an emulation!

That will probably depend on options options of the emulator and the abilities of the VNC program (win2ds in this case)- many vnc programs have issues tapping into directx drawn stuff (why videos have a tendency to appear black when viewing them) and your emulator being a games type affair will probably use it. Equally I am not sure what level PSP emulators are at these days.

"and Internet"- not if you are doing it on a local network.

For my money the only halfway reasonable method by which to play PS1 games is an ISMM and ismart linux and even that is not really worth much.

Y'know what's a good and affordable way to play PSP and PS1 games on the go?

Getting a PSP and playing PSP and converted PS1 games. Seriously, you can get a PSP dirt-cheap and the button layout (and the presence of the analog slider, of course) greatly enhances the experience, not to mention far better overall performance.

Win2DS is what it is - a VNC. You can use it for browsing the web or running some really basic operations remotely, like file management and the sort, but definatelly not for "gaming". At least not for "enjoyable gaming".

This.

Just get a PSP, its pretty cheap now a days and if you want to save more money then get a MicroSD card to Memory Stick Pro adapter.

Really ? Do you have to buy someone's story if you can even play them on DS ? Are you silly ? Saving your figure it out and wondering. Buying PSP is your best bet and it is much cheaper in PAWN stores. :)

This is full of contriditions. I don't like the PSP so much but I want to play PSP and PSX games on the NDS because I don't like the PSP but I love the NDS? seriously wtf.

Either use a PC emulator or buy a PSP, put CFW on it and then play all the games you want.

hahaha you know i cant express the word i am saying fully because my main language is not english but..... why are they playing a N64 on a DS even though they can just play it on the PC.... look one user said that: ''i could just turn off the monitor of my PC then play the Game on my DS while on bed'' something like that.... its more comfortable playing Handheld... and for the PSP i didnt like the PSP Handheld not the games there are reason why i hate PSP but not personal....

Ah but the N64 can be ported to the DS because well its already on a nintendo console so its easier but the PSP is different to the DS so its much easier to just play on a PSP console or on the PC if want to play PSP games plus with the DS resolution PSP games would look horrible on it anyway.

Summation of the situation:
You could either play the games you want on a legitimate console or continue burning time to get it on a different console when there aren't exactly a ton of great PSP emulators in the first place, and any game you are going to play is going to have lag. By the time you get shot, you would have technically already been dead in the game before you could ever see it, meaning all reaction type games would be shit. Have fun playing turn based stuff at a slower speed.

oh yeah i did that too but didnt post a new thread instead i use google... but this is different yknow PSP and PS1 are really playable... and im not asking a question im asking for a comment of what they think of my plan..... but even if this are posible there still a downside like the posts above: PS1 lack of keys.... PSP Lack of graphics...
Bless you child.

For your past good deed, I will respond to your topic.

There are many reasons why this won't work:
1) The specifications and hardware of the DS makes it impossible to emulate, let alone run PSP and PS1 games.
The hardware of the DS is incredibly inferior to the PSP. Just comparing the core processors alone (67MHz of a DS compared to 222MHz [default clockspeed] of a PSP) would make the idea seem dumb.

2) Using Win2DS would be too laggy. Also, I don't think there's a working PSP emulator.
Fact is, laggy games aren't playable. This needs no elaboration.

3) Not enough buttons on the DS
You could use the touch screen to emulate the analog nub of a PSP, but good luck fitting in the rest of a DualShock's controls.

4) The damn screen resolution is too small.
DS: 256 x 192
PSP: 480 x 262
PS1: 320 x 240
This needs no further elaboration.

Just summed up everything that we were all trying to convey.

So to summarize want to play PSP and PSX games either buy a PSX and play it on there perfectly or buy a PSP and play both PSP and PSX perfectly or play them on your PC with an emulator.

i think the Psx resolution wouldnt mind anything i play a Psx emulator on my mobile phone and there is a Working PSP Emulator yknow i am an Emulator Expert.... and the only real problem we are messing is the laggyness.... and for the pSX lack of buttons not all games are using R and L Buttons some old PS1 Controllers doesnt even have one.... but playing a pSX on youre DS is definitely Cool....
(Playing a psx on mobile phone is not as cool as DS)

ok i decided that i will make a Configuration like the one that Skelux made... i think i will finish it this Saturday and someone could try it....

for the PSP i wouldnt make a configuration for it because the Jpcsp is not fully developed yet..

i would like to post a picture of me playing tekken in 256 x 193 and its great.... i cant upload it now my internet is slow as hell

Trust me. You don't even want to go into PSP/PSX emulation with the config you're suggesting.

If everything everyone mentioned about the limits of the DS hardware isn't enough, you do know that the DS uses a WiFi protocol, which isn't enough for streaming a playable PSP/PSX game. Also regarding a phone playing PSX games.. "PSX resolution doesn't cause a problem on the mobile". Of course it doesn't since most phones have a better resolution on the screen. The iPhone 4S for example has a 640x960 display which is a lot better. Also we're talking about completely different devices spec wise.

Also so on topic and not trying to be an ass, but did you try to link to an image on your computer? :I

iam not suggesting i am making it myself.... my phone resolution is 240x320 and remember that we are not using an emulation and i set the psx image to 256x193 and the link i already edit that minutes ago....

Edit: Trust me i configure pSX to the greatest settings and try running the 2 Emulators at the Same Time... the Video of my pSX and P64 is almost the same.... and for the PSP that is the hardest problem....

Remember: i said that the pSX and P64 not PS1 and N64
