    Hi all!

    I just formed a team called AwsomiSoft, and we are currently working on a new program called DS App Studio.

    It has its own programming language called DSAL, which allows you to make DS homebrew, without the knowledge of C/C++ or any other language.

    To download it, go to http://www.awsomisoft.co.cc/

    Professional homebrew, eh? Bit of an oxymoron is it not? [IMG]

    Don't we already have a program like this?
    IMHO, people should make homebrew with knowledge about what they're doing (C/C++). If an error occurs or if the homebrew has a bug they wouldn't know how to fix it. They wouldn't know how to debug it. Learning the programming language will allow you to make other programs, too.

    Well, DS Game Maker has limitations because of its GUI.

    Programming DS homebrew allows you to have more control over your DS homebrew, but C/C++ are too difficult for newbies to learn, so we made this.

    They ask you out right if you need more "assistants"... LOL
    what about assistance - you know how the heck we are supposed to use your not fully developed software (version 0.1). It seems you don't have a manual yet. I don't know who this Manuel is... is he going to help us when we give up on looking for the real manual...

    "Upgrade to Pro
    Want to take the full advantage of the DS App Studio to make more professional DS homebrew games and applications? Then, you can starts by upgrading to the Pro version of DS App Studio!

    DS App Studio Pro version will not be available until the full version of DS App Studio is released "

    I don't normally flame people but try a spell checker before you post a semi-professional website.

    ...That you may end up asking for money for...

    LOL - no really sorry - LOL - sorry, I hope you fix those spelling mistakes before somebody else notices them. (I'm not one to talk but then any of my stuff here I keep seperate from my professional work life). Hobbies are hobbies after all - otherwise they would be called work. (still smiling)

    oh and suggestion - have real examples in you forums for people to go "OHhhhhhhh.... thats how / what they mean"

    edit August 12 1:43 am
    I'm really sorry, but you still have yet to correct your grammatical stuff and spelling. It really is assistance not assistants.
    "That is why we developed DS App Studio."
    That is why we are developing DS App Studio.
    That is why we have developed DS App Studio.

    "DS App Studio is an IDE that was built to make DS homebrew development a lot easier than other tools that can make DS homebrew," put a period here and start a new sentence.
    And try not to point out competition that is free... (even if it is difficult for the novice to get through)

    If your not going to show examples that my 80 year old grandmother should be able to understand, than my only interest is in making fun of this.
    As that is the simplicity you whould be trying for.

    I keep finding small and slightly funny spelling mistakes...
    Oh well leave the assistants up maybe you do actually mean real live people will appear to help you.
    thanks for putting up some form of examples I was hoping you would...
    I also hope that you are not using any copyrighted nintendo stuff and have all your disclaimers against your software screwing up peoples computers, and cards.
    So you don't get sued for damages and the like.
    (Giggle this website is soooo given me a case of the giggles)

    First, I do not see any errors in that sentence.

    Second, this program being the beta, I will not display "real examples" until the full version is out.

    And, this program is just meant for making DS homebrew a lot easier to make. [IMG]

    Would I be stupid to assume one has to pay for this Pro version xD?
    If so, I'd never see myself pay for something (=homebrew devving) that is centered around free software XD

    I viewed their YouTube channel, seems that it doesn't even use PAlib.

    Uses some random crap like:

    Code:
    Init2D();
    ResizeTopScreen(256, 256);
    ResizeBottomScreen(256, 256);
    PrintTopScreen("Hello World");
    PrintBottomScreen("Hello World");
    Which is called "DSAL", some language they created themselves...

    What I'm interested in, is how they managed to create this "DSAL" language and get it to compile correctly.

    128 mb install is a bit much, if I say so myself. Why is the file so big?

    Yes, I am one of them.

    And, professional is only a version in which will allow you to use 3D in your homebrew.

    Right now you can get the registration key for the pro version.

    The installation file is really big because of the language. Programming languages take lots of effort to make, and if you think I am wrong, create one yourself.

    In the v0.3 version, you can use forms for your DS homebrew.

    Edit: I am thinking about making this program free. I might as well , since DS Game Maker costs money.

    And, how is that random crap?! That is how to print text on a DS application using the PrintTopScreen and PrintBottomScreen functions.

    Yes, but it's so much easier in PAlib.

    And I'd recommend a few things for your download, so that it doesn't have the huge size.

    1. Package the code library/language separate to the update file, that way people can only install what they *think* they need.

    Also, DSGM install file is small compared to this, why can't you manage to make yours small like the one in DSGM?

    128 mb for an install package is a lot, when you can just download PAlib and devkitARM and do it manually.

    Think about it.

    Look, dude, it seems I'd be wasting my time downloading a 128 mb installation for what, in theory, is a program which acts as a notepad program that auto builds an nds file.

    I'll stick to PAlib, and libnds, thanks.

    It's one thing to think like a newbie, but there are some other things that have to be taken into account. I would agree with Raiderscrusade on making the download smaller. There are not only newbies that are going to be willing to try your program out and you could just have your installer have something similar to the devkitpro updater or even run the devkitpro updater as part of the installation. It shouldn't be that hard to put a "Full Installation" and "Custom Installation". You should try to keep your installer light weight so that people with bad internet connections or limited bandwidths can have access (even if over a prolonged period of time) rather than having one download that fails because their internet cuts out and then having to start the download from square one.
    It's not like Raiderscrusade is battering your program down (he even complimented the simplicity), but the size of the download really is a downfall that could turn away even potential new users.

    Sorry if I have been rude.

    I decreased the size of the file by a lot.

    You won't regret this version! [IMG]

    Is this decreased version available, so I can test the program?

    It will be out in a moment. I just have to get the setup done.

    This version is just a notepad type thing. [IMG]

    I see a little bit of confusion with the name. You have Awsomisoft which seems to be the actual name, then on your forum you also have Awsomasoft. I believe this is a mistake and you are aware of it, I just felt I'd let you know about it anyways [IMG]
