Is this game any good?
I've played Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and it wasn't so bad.
Not really, the devs of Dark Void Zero did this game and while that game was awesome this is the typical work for hire license crap. Activision doesn't give a lot of time or cash for DS titles.
The amazing spiderman for gba was the best spiderman I have played so far. simple yet fun and fast.
The movie wasn't impressive either (not much to look forward to).
The problem with licensed games is the license costs so much money, they then see themselves forced to cut spending for development and programming.
That's why most of these games suck.
Not quite, the license wouldn't cost that much more than to create an all new title and have to trademark it, market it etc. The issue is that most publishers rely on the name alone to sell the game so sometimes it can be cheaper to buy a licence. Especially with Activision, they have a exclusive rights to stand alone Spider-Man titles so they could easily churn out a cheap game rather than do something new.
If you look at the back of this box at a game store I swear the screenshots look like goddamn GBA graphics.
MEh, best Spiderman game I've played on DS is Web of Shadows, without a doubt!
I don't understand the fascination for superheroes like that anyway.
