I love this show :3
It looks like it plays like Phoenix Wright...
Sigh. It's times like these that I wish I could read/understand Japanese.
EDIT: Aw man. Ninja'd..
Looks similar in gameplay to the Conan x Kindaichi game. I did kinda hate the skateboarding portion though...
Anyways should be interesting to go through.
Aww...Kaitou Kid's in this one? I wish they would bring these over...
If only I could understand one word of what he is saying...
I need to learn the language.
So do I. That's one of my summer goals.
You can't learn Japanese over the course of a summer. It takes years (at least 4 to be 100% fluent, according to my teacher (who is a full-blooded Japanese woman, who hails from Japan)). I'm at the end of first year, and I can't even understand everything that's said in one of these trailers.
Hmm one part of the video seems to elude to a "Fake" Kaitou Kid. Perhaps one scenario involves a copy cat robbery of some kind?
Not only Kaito Kid, you got Hattori Heiji in this game as well.
If you really worked at it, you could probably hash out at least the 2 basic alphabets and some basic grammatical structures in a summer. Since you only need to read, not write or listen, it's doable. You'll still need to figure out how to effectively look up words though, since you cant copy n paste in the DS The only problem with this kind of game is that there are REAMS AND REAMS of text going on. If you have to stop and lookup stuff constantly, you probably won't even get past the intro in a day. That was actually a surprising part of the Edgeworth series, it really just dumped you into the gameplay almost immediately instead the 30 minutes of setup that normally accompanies a Phoneix Wright game.
English release please?!
I fucking loved this show!
There are loads of sentence patterns to learn, not just hiragana and katakana (the 'two basic alphabets' as you call them). He seriously wouldn't be able to understand a thing after a summer.
I didn't plan to learn the whole language over the Summer, that would be crazy.
Either way, I'll likely use Rosetta Stone.
Yet another game I want that we most likely won't see over here in the US. How many episodes of this anime have been dubbed so far anyway?
Rosetta Stone really won't get you anywhere. You'll learn how to say water.
Getting actual lessons or textbooks will help you so much more. You really can't learn enough Japanese to understand the game within a Summer.
However, this is about the game, not how machomuu's going to learn Japanese.
I think I'm going to look at a few more trailers before importing the game (I love Detective Conan )
I don't know very many people who enjoy Detective Conan cause they think it's kiddie, but it's pretty good
I don't even know anyone who thinks Detective Conan is kiddie. A lot of them that have watched it or at least seen it before thinks that it's pretty good. My only gripe with the series is that the story isn't really going anywhere. I mean seriously, there's only like maybe 2-3 or so episodes per season that actually involves the Black Organization and/or episodes that drives the story forward. The rest of episodes are just there for the sake of mystery solving.
I loves this cartoon anime show! Meanwhile, the game name should be..
Meitantei Conan: Aoki Houseki no Rondo
hehehe that's right even japanese people have to study the language all the way to high school ~ and even adults have misinterpretations ~ it's complicated ~
and as with the conan vs kindaichi game,
the death note game,
the lupin game,
i wish they were translated
