Ok heres how far I've come by now ... Tried some Random Intellivision Rom, compressed with NL Compressor & LZ77 compression, my gba rom went down the halft size.
Renaming the compressed rom to bowling.z. Injected with Nitroexplorer overwriting the bowling game I end up having two black screens.
GBA ROM? Anyway, no, it does work. Just make sure you're replacing the right file....I replaced Baseball with Burgertime just now and it seems to work ok. We might need to figure out how to remap the controls for some games (looks like we can edit the cfg files for that), but the emulation seems decent enough.

*edit*
Hm, maybe not. A few games I tried did not work. It could be something I don't know about the per game settings though.

Could someone make up a step-by-step tutorial of how to inject different INTV games into this? I tried replacing Star Strike with Demon Attack (following the rudimentary instructions given in this thread), but one way I tried just resulted in it still being Star Strike but with a garbled bottom screen, and another way seemed to change nothing. I'm not any kind of programmer, but I CAN follow instructions and I need help to get the crap games out and the good games in.

Rayder, sounds like you replaced the overlay image and not the ROM itself...the ROMs are in the \roms subdir. Do what you did, but replace the Star Strike .z that's in \roms :)

So far just LS77-compressing (using GBA Cruncher or one of the other utils) a normal Intellivision ROM and placing it over an existing-in-this-compilation ROM has worked for me (I've just tried a couple...yay, Tron - Deadly Discs works :D)

My 'method' has just been: unpack the .nds with dslazy, compress an INTV ROM and slap it over one of the .z ones in the \roms directory, rebuild the .nds with dslazy

I'm not familiar enough with DS image formats (or which one Intellivision Lives! uses) enough to be able to successfully replace the bottom screen overlays (and box art/etc) with my own.

Awww, ran into a possible limitation of the emulator that breaks some stuff :( In some games, it seems that if there is...'a lot going on' in a game's screen, top and bottom portions of the screen aren't drawn, and the border color fills those areas.

Examples:
- Hover Force's 'takeoff' screen - (Visible screen is less than it should be)

- Minotaur (AD&D - Treasure of Tarmin) - This is what made me notice this semi-problem...and it's a huge problem for this game especially. The bottom of the screen isn't visible, so you can't see the current maze level you're on (should be in the center bottom), the bottom 2 slots of your backpack in the lower left, the 3rd row of stats that should be on the lower right, and, most importantly, you can't see what you're holding in your hands :(

I'm _guessing_ that this problem is caused by a scene being too 'complex' to draw, and maybe the emulator is leaving out some scanlines to keep the speed up.

As for some more neat things I've found out about this emulator (by looking through the configs :P), it seems to support the special memory mapping some ROMs need...and it looks like there's even some ECS (the Entertainment Computer System addon) features, since at least one of the games has an "[ecson]" entry in their .cfg :D
