I might try this...
MORE racing games. Just what I needed! I hope this is good as the other racing games that I've tried.
surprisingly, i want to try this game..
This game is quite good.
i am trying this game out now.
it's a top down racer..... but i'll play more through it..
Hey, this looks OK
it may look okay, but has bad controls :| i couldn't even drive the car.
I like this game, but it's pretty challenging. Even after you memorize the tracks, you still have to contend with the obstacles and hazards which are kinda random in that some hazards float around the track, not to mention that some tracks erode the track in subsequent laps to very narrow lanes that can be nearly impossible to navigate consistently. And there's no rubber-band AI in this game either, you screw up and you will lose. It definitely takes some getting used to because the controls are a little floaty. I had to do the first GP quite a few times to get the hang of the controls. Don't forget about the drift ability using the shoulder buttons to gain a speed boost.
About those hazards.....do yourself a favor, go into the options and turn "Auto Hazard" to ON so you won't have to hassle with deciding the useless hazard placement silliness. Believe me, it makes the game flow along MUCH better when you don't have to bother with placing hazards before EVERY race.
One thing I wonder is what happens after you beat all 8 GP's? I mean, according to everything I've read about this game, it has 48 tracks, but each GP is only 3 tracks. 8x3=24....so where's the other 24 tracks? After beating the initial 8 GPs, do 8 more open up? Do they just mirror them or make you race them backwards? Has it got something to do with multi-player mode? (I don't play multi-player modes in games) I don't know.......but it keeps me playing to find out.
To me top down racers always had awkward controls but it looks decent.
I agree that the game has awkward controls. It's somewhat hard for me to control my car. It took me at least 1-3 mins just to finish the FIRST map. I guess I don't like this game, and I pretty much prefer GRID than this game. :l
Death Rally for the DS? yaaaaay!
Edit: Looks more like [utl=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro_Machines_(video_games)]Micro Machines[/url]
They even copied half of the title name
Wow, this actually looks good.
It kind of looks like a cross between micro machines and rock 'n' roll racing..
It looks like a fun multiplayer title, I wouldn't bother playing it by myself.
..Its RC pro am =DDDD
Top down racers on the DS are totally unplayable, period! Every game I tried I thought was horrible.
The only topdown games I ever enjoyed were on the Amiga; Super Cars 2 and Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road.
As good as this looks, I want to spare myself the frustration, so I'll skip this.
Looks like a lot of fun, but the controls make me skeptical.
You seem to need to use L or R to drift in order to get round the track properly, make sure you're using that.
This looks ok not awesome though, I might try it.
I played the Japanese version of this years back, I think it was a simple series game can't remember.
Controls ruin the game. Tried it for hours back then but it wasn't worth it.
