Saw the review for this on Kotaku. If I had a DSi XL, I'd definitely try this thing out.

I've only seen 8+ reviews for this one and everyone seems to be liking it so far.

I'm definitely interested in this, I like cooking and since school is practically done I'll have time to do more of that.

Meh I'm not that much into cooking anyway, so I'm prolly gonna skip this. Might fall back on it if I ever need to learn to cook though.

good to see that not everyone automatically dismisses third party games as "shovelware"

You know it! But the 3rd party devs that have a name for themselves (Sqeenix, the god awful FF series, Konami, Contra, Yu-Gi-Oh, Capcom, Megaman, Ace Attorney) get by easily.

This has American recipes, not international, it has MORE recipes, and it has the ability to send recipes to other DS's via DS Download Play.

By the way, yes or no only-has anyone been able to find this rom yet?

    Yes.

Am I the only one noticing that it's two blond chicks in the kitchen as the cover?

This program (can't really call it a game) is not working properly on CycloDS (new GUI). Actually it kind of half-ass works.....you can look around at stuff, then it white-screens randomly. Some kind of AP going on I suppose. Naturally, battery saver and stealth mode toggles did nothing to alleviate the issues. You'll only get so far through it before white-screens happen.
I noticed when I first booted it, it said it had to configure the save file and that it would take about 50 seconds. It only took 10 or so seconds for me....maybe part of the AP is a save size and/or configuration issue?

What I did see of this title looked like a very high-quality effort though. It's highly detailed for teaching various aspects of preparing many different foods. Full speech for just about everything. Vids that show you how to chop/prepare various ingredients, a whole bunch of different meals to prepare, all kinds of preparation help (speech and vids). It even has where you can make up a shopping list and go to the store with the DS as your list. You can create recipes and share/trade them with your friends with DS's.
This program is DEFINITELY NOT SHOVELWARE! It serves a very unique niche in the DS's demographics and most gamers won't care about it at all, but if you really check this title out, you'll see it's very elaborate and obviously made for an adult to use as a tool. NOT SHOVELWARE!

It is, quite literally, a full-fledged cookbook for the DS, but so much better than any regular cookbook because it's got speech and vids to help you! Everyone should buy this for their mom as a Mother's Day present. (Oh! The game has a calendar in it too, with all types of holiday info and recommendations and stuff. That's the only reason I knew about Mother's Day; The dude was talking at me about Mother's Day coming up, after I set up the initial profile. Heh....cool)

I'm sure there's even more to the title that I didn't realize, but it keeps white-screening randomly, so I never get very far before I have to reset. I'm sure flashcart teams will get a fix out eventually. It's worth it for anyone who's into cooking meals.

I don't really care about cookbooks and I'll probably never use this, but even I can see the quality emanating from this title. There is no way anyone can call such an elaborate program shovelware. Niche-ware is more like it.
