EDIT, 27th dec 09, playstationnewsnetwork, got bless them, have kindly posted a youtube video, containing Jewel Pets gameplay, within this thread, after this post, here is a link to the video in youtube. and here is a link to the post by playstation newsnetwork.

DS scene found the video. http://www.ds-scene.net/?s=viewtopic&nid=8899

Anyway, my friend, L.phela, told me that this is the Japanese take on Care Bears... and that the game is a pet simulator, Though L.phela goes on to mention it was only a Guess!
I haven't had a chance to play it.

Images:
Images displayed were displayed unauthorised, they might warrant removal, so just go to ds-scene.net/?s=viewtopic&nid=8899, and see them there, since that is where I obtained them from anyway.
Though it seems that ds-scene got the images from Bahamut anyway.

Website Information:

It looks like the .NFO file available for viewing here on GBAtemp.net, was created by Bahamut, it has a link to a website... here... http://mto-power.com/character/jewel-kirapika/index.html. Warning, flash content. (With extreme Cuteness). Google Translator, the site, Googlated. Google translating the site does nothing as all information on the site is either within a flash or an image...

The site for the game has Game play instructions, if you scroll down the page a bit... There are some character introductions as well, the site is in Japanese...

Game play:

The game seems to be a pet simulator, train and love your kitty to be the best!

The game seems to support WiFi, allowing up to 4 NDS's for mini-game-play, trading items, etc.

There are Mini-games, albeit, Cute ones, rather than challenging...

The objective on the game is either similar to the animé, in which you must save little crystallised kitties from a bad guy, or it could be that the game has only one objective, to play with kitties...

Copyrights:

Some more information from the site, its not related to Gameplay, its copyright an such, with a Googlation.

Price:

From that information it looks like the game is out at 4,800 Yen. Which converts to 52.43610 US Dollars.* Which you round to 52, not 53 USD, so expect the game to cost you about 60-70 USD to import and play.

*0.01092 US Dollars per Japanese Yen.
This exchange rate is based on the daily rates for the US dollar.

Notes:

The official genre is given as Rhythm Action Magic, not "Cute".

Esplands have also released the game, Bahamut is listed here, as releasing it first.

Animé?:

Yes the game is based on an animé, that was given this synopsis, coloured blue seen below, on myanimelist.net.
Ruby came from the magic world "Jewel Land" in search of her friends scattered all over the human world in jewel form. Rinko Kougyoku and her two friends meet Jewel Pets and come to possess some magical power.
(Source: Jewelpet CM)

So it looks like Ruby is the name of the White kitty-cat...

The animé started on the 5th of April, 2009 and is currently airing... It looks like there are 52 episodes scheduled for the animé... The latest available raw seems to be episode 38, so we can assume that episode 38 aired recently.
