Not a big racing games fan, but since I have pretty much played all the games that I like, might as well give this one a shot

Is this any good? the other need for speed's on the DS pretty much suck, but Nitro on the Wii is pretty good, so.... what is the verdict?

Saves are compatible with the (E) version. I swapped out the (E) version for this version and EVERYTHING about the ROM is exactly the same (even trims to the same size) as the (E) version. The GameID is the only thing that seems to have changed.

It's an OK arcadey racing game, but they needed to optimize it a bit better because you'll notice varying framerate as you play.

It's quite fun, but that dropping framerate's a pity...

this is totally different from other NFS for the DS as this is more arcady than realistic
its very fun and i have liked it more than others (though initially i thought it wasnt good)

Not always true... I usually use the US ones. Most times the US ones have less languages so they trim down smaller. Try it with some, IE Zelda and ones with multiple languages can trim down by a few meg.

US releases are also better for people who are in the US and like multiplayer. In many cases, you can only play multiplayer with people from the same region. This is more significant if your friend has a legit cart, as they can't necessarily just download the (E) version.
