More of the same.
Why change a working concept!!!
It's actually why change a winning team.
But I agree, the first one was great (when you bought it, you got a paddle with it I think), it was really fun (with or without paddle)
Just stating its more of the same, sometimes thats a bad thing but when there have been bad games in the series its good that Extreme 2 is like Extreme 1
I bought the first one but wont the second one but I'll definitely play it. Maybe there'll be something new inside the game that I've not heard about.
Yeah there is a new feature in there i think, Super Fever or whatever it was called... its a good game... the bosses are fun to fight
Yep, the first one was pretty fun.
Hope this one is improved.
LOVED the first one, I'll definitely try this one! Judging from the trailer, the music also sounds quite good to me.
First Impressions based on the Japanese version which was in English almost entirely anyways:
The sequel is more of the same, with some improvements and some problems.
First off, if you liked the first one, this is a no brainer. You will love this.
The new bonus stages are better than the first game, too. Instead of stopping the action and counting you down to another screen, if you get a bonus it pretty much just takes place on the top screen as you shoot from the bottom now. It makes levels that much more hectic and action packed and avoids grinding the game to a halt like the first game's bonus rounds did.
All in all, the game felt much shorter than the first one. The fever mode (which is essentially just a bonus round where you play bingo by killing certain enemies) is fun, but I seemed to have been able to blitz through this in under an hour while there are still some parts of the first game I haven't fully beat to high score dominance yet.
Thought the first one was grossly over-rated, but hey, if Taito can still make some money off of the legacy, more power to 'em.
I'm a bit disappointed that the game's just more of the same. Don't get me wrong, I loved the first one, but I just think that they could have expanded the concept just a little.
Im getting it
I LOVE space invaders so like... Shush! XD
Retro games ftw!
its space invaders.. what else could they possibly add to a 30 year old gameplay formula
Awesome! Another game to add to my play list.
Well, haven't anyone tried "infinity gene" on iphone/itouch ? I really like that twist on space invaders! It's one of the best games imo (for the itouch that is).
I've played the first one, and this version in Japanese. Addicting game and a remarkable remake of a classic game. The Space Invaders Extreme games are a shining example on how to make a retro game modern.
It's a lot faster than the first game, but the music isn't as memorable.
My only complaint with this game (and the first one) is that it ends. The original SI goes on until you run out of lives. That's a HUGE difference to an old-school gamer like me. I mean these games are much more intense (and more fun) than the original SI to be sure, but when the credits roll, it's over. WTF?! SI ain't supposed to end with rolling freakin' credits! It ends with you going boom on your last guy, and then you look at your score. That was a showstopper for me with these SI's.
I am using a Supercard DSONEi and it is freezing after the first boss. Has anyone else found this problem?
