I never got past the first 5 minutes of this game because I couldn't figure out how to change the controls.

Also the fire kicked my ass.

But I will try anew, and see if it turns out any better this time.

Seriously, what's with people not checking the options before they play a game for the first time? Is this normal? Am I the weird one for always checking the settings first?

Nope, I do it also here.
It's a habit from PC games, I always do it too with DS games

An abysmal stylus control scheme renders the game practically unplayable. Trust Taito to fuck things up as usual. It's just as well that you have to use the button controls, because there's really no call for this game relying on stylus-only controls. But then, even the button controls are horrific. Third party developers need to get on the clue bus about the sensible ways to employ the features of the technology.

I don't understand what everybody's problem is with the stylus controls...I played through nearly 2/3 of the Japanese release with it and didn't have any problems; it's just point-and-click.

Its a bit hard to get use to the stylus,
but its worth hanging in there, it feels more natural after a bit

I would have liked, if Mr.ESC would be button-controlled and the other people stylus controlled... And because this game is certainly not a plattformer I´m using the stylus controls!
