wow what a marketing strategy.
name would suggest it's some cool new rpg, but it's actually some boring educational puzzle game.

Spellbound is an innovative spelling game that tests your language skills and gets more difficult as your abilities improve. With more than 25,000 different words to spell, 100 potential difficulty levels and 11 varied modes you'll be a walking dictionary in no time. And, if you want a little extra challenge, you can choose from five languages to hone your foreign abilities too.

Your personal starting point is assigned when you complete your profile. To progress up the levels and earn points, you must play complete rounds. Rounds come in two parts: firstly, a straight spelling test where you will be asked to spell 10 words in a given time. After this, you will be given three randomly assigned Quick Games to test you further. With a really good score at the end of these tests, you might jump several levels, and you could be invited to the Super Challenge, where you get a chance to progress even further up the levels. Three harder-to-spell words will be offered up along with a visual definition. Get just one of these wrong, and you're back where you started.

Unlike the US version (Spelling Challenges), the Euro version speak out the word instead of showing it to you (the case with the US version). So now, the game is playable and not a cakewalk like the US one is.

It's now at par with the PSP version, with the bonus of having stylus control.

This is on the PSP?

On a side note, was there ever a GBA or NDS version of Boggle?

Yes, it's the same game. Spelling Challenges PSP features voices as well.

Yes, there's a Boggle on NDS, it's a 4-in-1 made by the shovelware guys at DSI. Passable if you like Boggle.

Come on!

Everyone knows the best game with the title of Spellbound was the Magic Knight classic from MAD on the 8-Bits back in the day...

In fact, an update would work great on the DS with all those windows and pointers!
