    wouldn't this be for learning chinese rather than japanese? i mean, going by the "ni hao" and all

    Yes. This looks like a piece of software to designed to help you learn Chinese. Probably like that "My coach" series developed by Ubisoft.

    This software is a better reference source than My Chinese Coach. But it doesn't teach you the basics of Chinese or anything.

    I'm guessing it's learning Chinese for people who know Japanese? like a dictionary for Japanese to Chinese

    Genre is wrong then.
