The steering is pretty bad on this one..
That sucks, Curley.
Also, pretty cool it's got Wi-Fi
Doesn't look too bad, considering it's a racer for the Nintendo DS.
Looks like they actually put effort into this one!
yeah i thought it was only decent
didnt try the wifi but i know its two player only (not sure if you play with friends)
the graphics are just okay
and the steering is meh.
i dont like how you crash, either
I've played this series on the mobile (by the same developer) and I enjoyed them so was looking forward to this game.
Thought it was decent actually, saw nothing wrong with the steering at all! Only problem I had was the lack of challenge, not once did anyone overtake me during the three races I did.
Looks nice enough, far better than most of these racers. Better presentation too but the sound is pretty mundane.
Probably give it a 7/10 at the moment. Its certainly no Speed Racer or Mario Kart. Saying that I am one of the few who enjoyed the DS version of Asphalt GT 2, I still reckon people should have given that game some more time.
Edit: Nah this only gets a 6/10 for me, just too easy.
Asphalt Urban GT2 was awesome. My favorite racing game currently.
I hope this one isn't bad.
Asphalt Urban GT1 and 2 are two of my best DS games I still enjoy it! To me those are much much better than Speed Racer.
The steering is the old-fashioned tap-tap steering. I remember that method from before there really was analog controls. I like how it steers, it's how many "pre-analog" racers were......and I'm old-school, so.....
I've only played the first track, but it seems OK to me. Seems a little annoying that you have to get 20 points to unlock the next track. You only get 3 points MAX for a race. That means at LEAST 7 races just to see the next track. Having to race the same track so many times seems like it will bore me to death and I'll just never bother to complete the game. Judging by the the first track, it seems a little boring already.
I didn't like how music and soundFX were just ON or OFF. I like to set the volume of the music real low where you basically only hear it in the menus and not in the race. Not just ON or OFF.
It has decent graphics for a DS game though. I feel many are a bit harsh with their assessment of the DS's 3D graphics. The DS is the weakest system (technically speaking) on the market for gaming, what do you really expect? I got a strong "Road Rash 3D" feeling with the handling and environment in this game. I kept wanting to punch or kick the other bikers as I come up to them.
I really miss Road Rash.....wish we could get RR 3D emulated on the DS.
No motorcycle game will ever beat Road Rash 3D (I played the 3do version) for pure fun and intensity. They need to use this graphics engine for a new Road Rash game on the DS.
...starts thinking back to a day when EA didn't suck....
I wished they made a DS version of OUTRUN! Yay, Old School racing fun!!!
it seems the racing games on the DS are very simple unlike mario kart or NFS or Asphalt etc
They need to add more challenges and make it longer and harder
Zvarri! The DS needs GRID
Nice mathematics there Rayder
I hope GRID doesnt get cancelled and I guess I could get used to this game, If i wanted..
It can't be as easy as Evolution GT released last week, what were they thinking with that game? They're only 3-5 lap races yet you can lap them on the veteran levels. You can play the whole game, finishing 1st by a long way every race in a couple of hours.
I didnt like it because the driver sways more than a wino on who just drunk a crate of Tenants Super
