Didn't Arkanoid come out first? I always thought Breakout was the clone =/

    Damn! I am flippin' old!

Breakout was the original. Arkanoid was probably one of the best, if not the very best, clone.

This was a huge hit when it came out. Many clones have come along that mimic it, but this was the standard.

I don't know how there can be so many gamers that don't know this classic game.

Amiga 500's Arkanoid is the best.

That's too bad... I really want the paddle! I guess I'll have to buy it online if it's still available. If someone knows a place where I can get it cheap please do share with us!

When watching some screenshots I see this game looks worse then a homebrew game
    It has terrible DOS graphics
I expected some refined beautiful graphics when seeing the box art and homepage but this is just sad
Like Block Breaker Deluxe for the iPod it looks good it has good functions but this is shit

Here is NFO by the way:

I liked Breakout, but I find this game to be incredibly boring. Maybe it's just me.

I found Nervous Brickdown (1185) to be a pretty nifty modern update on the theme with snazzy graphics, animation, and lots of variations on the Breakout theme. Purists might not like it though, because it stretches the genre pretty far, but it's very well-done.

Totally agree Bri, just tried it for the first time. When you compare this to Space Invaders Extreme, this almost looks like homebrew. In fact I had restart the game to ensure myself it was saying "Square Enix" at the beginning! Couldn't believe it!

OK, good, then it's not just me! I thought everyone loved this game. Maybe it's a lot better with the paddle (or maybe everyone just loves the paddle).

I'm going over to the other thread and state my distain!
