Darn it Japan. Stop making unpronounceable words. Unless it's meant to be spoken as in a multiple of the letter Y?

Since when is Ys unpronounceable? It's the plural of Y (as in more than one Y).

Technically, Ys = (???, ?su?, IPA: [i?su?]) (English IPA: /?i?s/). So it's like "eel", the animal, not like "why", the pronoun.

just without the last "l" amirite?
vowel number 2 plus /l/ plus unvoiced fricative alveolar.

isn't this a sequel to some sort of RTS?

The Ys games have been around for decades ... usually of at least reasonable quality.

Pronounced "eess", by the way [IMG]

They nicked the name from a mythical city in France.

Ah, Y's I&II... (I'm pretty sure it's pronounced like "ease")
I've always been a fan of the Y's games.
I wonder how well done these DS ports/remakes are.

It is quite obvious I was pointing at the vocalic sound. Also, it's English Vowel 1 (, short i, is number 2, [i:] is EV2) + voiceless alveolar fricative (). Like "eel", without the [l], exactly. It's quite commonly referred as [wais], like the plural of the letter y, but you can confirm the pronounciation in the Ys anime series.
Anyway, this game, AFAIK, is controlled solely with the stylus, isn't it? How does it fare? Any confirmation for a State-side release?

    Right, number one, that's it.
'Nyway, I don't think I understood... so (obviously) this is a sequel to Ys, but... I remember there was a game for DS with some name alike (if not entirely the same) that was a RTS game... not bad, but it wasn't a winner either.

Which city is it ? [IMG]

I've never played an YS game, maybe it's time to try.

FYI: this is the upgraded Ys, not the original one.

Are these games coming out in English? If so, any release date?

Nothing is announced at the moment....

Though I'm pretty sure it'll be Japan exclusive. Ys DS has yet to come out in the US, so I doubt II will.

    I think I played a bit of a (fan)translated one awhile ago. Not reall sure though, but I would love to play this if it were released here though I highly doubt it myself. ;_;
