OMG, THIS IS LYK, THE DS' SYSTEM SELLER!!!!
How lame can they make games, next they'll make a virtual ds console game thing 0_o
This game is so stupid. It's not even a spelling game. It's more of a memorization game. They ask you to spell a word, that they SHOW you. It would make more sense if the word was spoken, but it's written out for you. LoL. Just flashed for a second ... but anyone with a brain can remember them.
Nestea80 wtf at ur description. must be a really crap game.
Look at that exciting title! Spelling Challenges "and MORE" ! Ooooooooooh, I just can't wait to know what the more part stands for!
spelling challenges and more! - s.c.a.m.
More = SUDOKU!
Just guessing here.
The 'more' is identifying verbs, nouns etc, and it's actually quite fun, it gets the thumbs up from me as anything that helps kids learn is great. Having said that, some of the educational games on the DS do suck, but fortunately, this doesn't.
Maybe I'll give it a try!
IGN give it a 1.5 because the words in the main game is shown not spoken. I agree with the crux of their review, it would have been much more fun if the words are spoken - Spelling bee style. If it has, this could easily be a 7 or 8 game, the menu, style, progression is really done well. The shown-not-spoken really takes a lot away, still I would give it a 5.5, the mini games (which doesn't rely on being shown the correct answer) are quite fun.
I will probably get the PSP version since it is said that the PSP version doesn't show you the correct spelling but is dictated. I will just have to live with the joypad style spelling...
If only Crave have released this on a 32MB cart instead of 8MB, they could have easily cram in all those sound word files....
I agree it may have been better spoken for more able people, but kids will actually learn more because of this, not less, as it's forcing them to learn the word to get the score rather then try and correct them after.
