where is Touchmaster? im waiting for this one....
USA release in european languages?
I think they finally realized that they can release the European game in the states. Took them long enough
SQUiRE repack was out way before XPA proper, hence this is a nuke
Took a few minutes for my sites to have this up after you posted. You got to this quick.
P.S. Hi guys! lol
I've been enjoying the european dump. It's a pretty good shooter (few control flaws here and there) for the DS.
should this or squire's repack be nuked?? both working on emulators.
btw it's M3 (English,Spanish,French) and not M5 (German and Italian NOT included).
To Clear up any confusion about this release:
you would have to ask one of the "News" posters to fix that using private msg or something. I am only a IRC staffer not a Forum staffer.
-News Update packingthe ARM9 binary, which is what squire does, screws up the sound on the game therefor they are just screwing up ingame sound for fun ! and for cartsize convience yay lol thanks alot SQUiRE hope your releases are all PROPERed like they should be
Thats just pure FUD and shows a lack of understanding on how the technical aspects of the DS works.
Let me explain. The contents of the ARM9 binary is copied into RAM at game start up and execution of the ARM9 CPU is pointed to its entry point (defined by the header). From here it will either:
ARM9 packed: unpack itself into RAM taking up the space it would have if it came unpacked and then carry on with regular game initialization.
ARM9 unpacked: not unpack itself cause it's not packed to begin with and then carry on with regular game initialization.
As you can see as soon as the game has started there is no difference in the code that occupies the DS RAM. It's identical. 100%.
Furthermore accessing sound and/or music is generally done by reading the data from the filesystem, not appendning them to the binary as was usually done on the GBA. Even if it were that data has been unpacked by now and does not require unpacking during gameplay. Since the code is identical the routines to access the filesystem are no different than your natively unpacked binary. There is no way a packed binary causes the problems you describe.
so.. is this game any good?
I'll get it but hey, I'm wondering if anyone has some first impressions to share? Looks decent
could it be possible in the future to add some levels to games with the 2 slots? like an addon/new chapter which needs to load from 1 of the slots who has a copycard? i hope one day a good memorecoder will be released for nds so you can record everything with the mic should be handy in a pda program or made by a homebrewer. pls dont be so rude glad you explain how things work so more people learn more about it. greets
DSOrganize already does this
Well... if you look in that way, the English it is an European language too. In Canada speaks french, in the rest of Latin America we talk Spanish (with some little exceptions, the biggest is Brazil XD). So... they are the "American" Languages too.
The only Gamewise difference is the healthbar.....
Is there a health-bar in the US version? If so I may try out the US game, even though I already finished the Euro version.
