    I haven't played this particular DS game, so I can't say for sure, but the goal of most matchstick puzzles is to get a layout of the matchsticks with a certain number of squares or triangles in it and you can only use (or move if the there's already a bunch laid out) a certain number of matchsticks to do it.

    That is exactly what this game is about. Unfortunately, the explanations of what you need to accomplish are all Japanese. This is not a game you can play effectively without being able to read the text. The math puzzles are pretty straight forward though.
