The freezing bug appeared only on US carts. Japanese ones (including mine) never had this issue. And I played the game over two weeks, everyday. I assume, that's because of poor quality of US carts. Many people complained that the carts were shaky and so on. Especially, the problem is easily fixed on fast flashcards. So, the freezing bug occurs only on slow memory. I assume, that's the cheap memory in US carts.

Anyone download this yet, is the freezing fixed in this version or not? Just want to know if i should bother downloading it and start over. The freezing on the warps sucked so bad in the US rom.

The freezing isn't a "bug". It's a memory speed issue. It WILL lock up on any slow memory. It seems the game engine was programmed the way that the game addresses many resources at the same time. So, it isn't a region issue either.

From what I understand, in the case of the rom, PoR froze due to the type of card you were using to access it, the region it was made in, and of course, the size. I used a 1 GB Sandisk MicroSD manufactured in Jap, and the U.S. version still occasionally locked up on me from time to time.

I think it's a bit silly to say that even though this is the only game that locks up because of slow memory, and it even happened on a few legitimate copies, it's not a bug.

I'd be surprised if they fixed it though. I'm sure they don't lose to much sleep knowing that this game is a bit harder to run on a flashcart than most.

oh well. hopefully my legit cart wont be to bad.

(not sure i meant it was a bug - problem with card speed delivering the needed data would have been my guess)

I usually freeze when i push start and when i arrive to a stone and push 'up' with EZV and X9. With my R4, no problème using start, but only freeze with the stone with the euro version, no problem with US version

current config :
r4ds 1.6
1GB Transcend
