It's not really an RPG, more of a puzzle/action/adventure game.

YES! I've been waiting for this one! Woot! I finished the GBA game of this series, and it's AWESOME! I'm a big Dragon Quest/Warrior fan, and I love the DQ theme games

Hopefully it's not too hard to figure out how to play this one

I believe this game is kind of like a simple action RPG where you only control a slime. That's what the GBA prequel was like anyhow. So it's actually not that much like Dragon Warrior Monsters, but now that you mention it I would love a new good DWM game. The monster arena in DQ8 made me think the same thing.

This game has really no "RPG" elements. It's more of an action adventure game. You play the blue slime, and you have various actions you can perform. You jump, glide, stretch and whack yourself into monsters. When you hit a monster or an item, it will fly into the air. You then get underneath it and you will start carrying it. You can carry up to three items or monsters at a time. There are various train track carts in the levels (or water rafts) and you can dump your stuff onto those to send them to town.

The object of the game is to rescue all of the slimes that have been kidnapped and help to rebuild your town.

So far, this game has some beautiful improvements....but it's WAY too easy. I got like 8 hearts now, and I've never lost more than one heart at any given time!

Im playing it and enjoying it

To break the crystal barriers u must talk to the 3 slimeninjas that you´ve released earlier. They are in the lower left area of the townmaps (in a well, jump down) upper area (where the kings castle is). Go down the well and do 3 minigames and voila; u have the power to break the crystals.

I´m stuck in a later portion of the game

, dunno what to do after I beat stage 5 (Cliffs).

There is a guide on gamefaqs, but he hasnt gotten that far yet

Would appreciate some help if anyone knew how to advance.
