Yes, unfortunately you are right.
The game just pretend that is saving if you use a 64kb game on ds slot....

i have mario 64 ds in the ds slot...but still don't save... (i'm playing just mantaing the cover closed...and recharging a lot hahaha)

Mine won't save either with a Neoflash 1 Gig w/ PassKey using the Mario Kart DS original cart! Suuuuux! Anyone get the save to work? It ACTS like it's saving but when u turn the DS off & go back to the game, there is nothing saved! They are getting too smart for us these days!

NeoFlash 1GBIT + FlashMe + Super Mario 64 DS = My exact setup. It worked fine.

edit: Using GST patcher v3.1 and NDS_Save

Are you having any problems?
sometimes when I save the game, it freezes, the sound goes on but the screens stay black, the same happens sometimes when you scrool to the next screen, it get stuck loading..

Man I'm at the end of this game game and the boss fights are LOOOOONG! Playing on M3 1G CF works perfect.

I agree with that. This game may not be as long as its GBA prequel, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, but it's still just as hilarious and the challenge was decent on the long run. Having finished it a few days ago, I found it quite enjoyable. The final bosses weren't very hard since I stocked up on plenty of Bros Items like Copy Flower and Mix Flower, those really put the hurt on them.

Play it from your original.
I have finished the game when my supercard was 1.60 firmware and the patcher 2.50 i think.
The only problem i had was the white screen when the game was finished ...
