Driving Courses in the UK

Hello

So one of my ex girlfriend did an intensive driving course with test included a few years ago. Can't remember which website she booked that through. But she done it in Blackpool and lives in London.

I lost my licence a few years ago due to some silly stuff(not my fault) and haven't driven ever since.

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this courses? That includes a theory, practical test and perhaps even hotel if it's outside of London.

I just need my driving licence back as soon as possible.

I assume this is a quick and dirty get em out on the road factory rather than full conditions, skid pan and other such things training.

Most people I would trust to hold an opinion here are not a great fans of them for car purposes, motorbikes did better though (but given the whole CBT and parts setup that they are built around that is to be expected). They were not bad if you lived in a contested place with long waiting lists as they would bypass those in a lot of cases. Equally most people holding negative opinions would be those that wanted a licence on their 17th birthday or as close to it, as a return to driving or a "from another country" type scenario they do better.

Lost license might complicate things (no need to answer but would I be right in you scored too many points for the first couple of years, possibly via actions of passengers, and got it yanked?), and I am not sure where it might come into play as regs were changed a bit a couple of years back ( https://www.gov.uk/driving-disqualifications has more). In any case and assuming you have left enough time I would have the new provisional and theory test in hand before you book it. Some might try to offer theory with it but better/cheaper to rock up with it if you can, though I had a quick scan and it was not by an awful lot. Said quick scan also saw me try to book things and as it is summer a lot of places seem booked up until September, though there were a few earlier.

Why would you want a hotel bundled in? There are a bunch of hotel booking places online. Equally if you are going for a week course it would probably be better to ask there, or possibly even get trains to places.

Lost my license due to some insurance complications. That was years ago.

And my ex did it in Blackpool with the hotel bundled in lol. So I was wondering if anyone knows anything like that where you go away for a few days to have the intensive course and the test taken within a week.
