Was this supposed to be an exception? As an English using forum you should use English pronounciations and 'hero as EEERO' isn't one.
If its was supposed to refer to recent dramatic use of 'an hero' then it was still wrong as that refers to a mistake made within a comment about a suicider.
If you are going by historical usage, then update. Its not in real world usage, only by people trying to look smart and failing.
There are not many, many exceptions unless you count each individual one. (hour, hono(u)r, one etc etc)
Basically its vowel sound = an, consonant sound = a.
Hero = consonant sound => a.
Dont bother correcting my grammar, I dont care about it. I only care about those jumping on others not only to correct them but to leave some smart ass 'bait' behind to appear even more superior.
