Joining the leagues of other last-gen games making their way to the Nintendo Switch is one of Capcom's ARPG games, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Originally released in 2013, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is an enhanced version of the original game, boasting an extra dungeon, new weapons, and more story content over the original 2012 release. The Nintendo Switch port is planned to launch on April 23 of this year, and will retail for $29.99.

I think it's cool that they're bringing these titles over, and I appreciate the discounted price.

I'd get excited for this if I knew this wasn't just a straight port. Dragons dogma has it's ups, but boy is it hindered by the bad parts. If they just made it so you could save anywhere, made enemy spawns not in literally the exact same spots every time, made the ai not garbage, and fixed the bizarre enemy level placements (like there being absurdly high level enemies a literal 2 minute walk from the main city hub) I'd play the absolute shit out of it.

Pretty awesome game, but it was ported to PC so long ago that you can get it much cheaper than $30 now.

I don't mind the ports as long as there's something new/meaningful. "definitive versions" are fine, especially if it's not for a full price.

    this game = fine
skyrim = nope. full price? with just an extra skin? COME ON

On topic, never heard or played this game, so might pick it up.

Let's be honest: if anybody here reported on XBO news, this meme would be about that. Nobody cares about XBO news for precisely that reason, though. It's the only console this gen with zero exclusives.

this isn't about exclusivity, but about receiving port of last gen games.
about 90% if the catalog of the switch is previous gen ports, indies and previous gen indie ports.

And how many of those 'ports' are HD editions that all three consoles receive around the same time Switch does? A good portion I'd say. As for indies, it doesn't really matter, they mostly start out on PC anyway. Just as many current-gen indies are on Switch as last-gen ones.

Oh so you'd rather that no ports at all show up? I take it you want the Switch to have the shit support Wii U had, it all makes sense now. You're not being forced to buy them either.

Good point, it's kinda impossible to port too many games to the first hybrid console. Lots of different people with different tastes out there, and any game that hasn't been released on a portable before can benefit from portable play on Switch. I'm sure the sales won't be terrible even for a slightly more niche game like Dragon's Dogma.

I don't know what's more annoying, the people complaining about ports, or the people who complain about ports who think they're compelled to buy them.

Call it whatever, it's awesome having these games on Nintendo switch, Nintendo didn't have them on previous generations, its greatly welcomed. Nintendo is finally doing something about mature gamers this time around. As I've said before, Mario and the gang and shovelware aren't enough to go through a consoles generation. Good game is a good game, new or old, port or not
