Today, EA and BioWare revealed the launch date for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the next installment in the Dragon Age franchise. For the occasion, a new trailer was aired:

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players will step into the role of Rook, a fully-customisable protagonist who must rise up, unite their crew and become the hero Thedas needs in a time where legends are born or slain. Joining Rook in their fight against corrupt Elven gods is a cast of seven compelling companions, each of whom hails from an iconic faction from Dragon Age lore. In addition to their own personal storylines and motivations, companions Bellara, Davrin, Emmrich, Harding, Lucanis, Neve and Taash all bring unique combat abilities and equipment to the fray, which Rook must strategically implement in their fight for the future of Thedas.

As a character-driven RPG, Dragon Age: The Veilguard offers a crafted experience woven from the threads of rich storytelling and fantasy worldbuilding the franchise is known for. In this bold, heroic adventure, players will experience expansive and dynamic stories that navigate love, loss and complex choices that affect relationships and the fate of each member of the Veilguard. In true Dragon Age fashion, these bonds of fellowship are the foundation upon which Rook’s journey is built, and it will be up to the player to determine how their personal story unfolds.

“As someone who’s been working on Dragon Age for over 15 years, I know just how much our community has been looking forward to this day, and I’m equally excited to share and celebrate that the game will officially launch on October 31,” said John Epler, Creative Director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. “We wanted to give you the choice to really express yourself, and do that in a world full of adventure and danger. So whether you’re a Warrior, Rogue or a Mage, we can’t wait for you to gear up, gather your party, and set out for another thrilling adventure through Thedas this Halloween.”

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will launch globally on October 31st for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam (Deck Verified), EA App and Epic Games Store). It is available to pre-order now which rewards players with in-game cosmetics.

Can't trust EA whatsoever, until i see the in-game gameplay footage only then i'll make up my mind.
You can always trust EA. I always trusted them and I've never been disapointed.
I always trusted them to paywall 80% of ingame stuff, and I've never been disapointed.
I always trusted them to release a shit game with 60+ DLCs to make it somewhat good, and I've never been disapointed.

If you trust them to stay the same and never listen to their playerbase and to laugh at them while emptying their wallet, then you will never be disapointed

This seems like it's the themepark rpg of rpg games in general. (yeah i know double g lol)
Seems basic and very light compared to the history of the devs' previous titles. I remember star wars knights of the old republic and that slow arse gameplay, but at least you had more than 3 skills(you could use at one time) :O
Le sigh. I do like light games so if this goes on sale for under 13.99 i might have to get it. Meaning I want to test the gameplay mechanics for myself.

But the day one purchase will be interesting to see what the newer generation of rpg folks like.
I hope it bombs.

Look how they massacred my girl!!:ohnoes:
lol source throwback: Massacred indeed

Alongside the game’s release date, Bioware have also revealed Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s PC system requirements. The good news is that this game won’t be overly hard to run on PC, though there are some oddities with this game’s system requirements. For starters, AMD CPU owners on Windows 11 are said to require AGESA V2 1.2.0.7 or newer. That means that some AMD Ryzen CPU users will need to update their motherboard’s BIOS. Beyond that, the game has remarkably low minimum GPU requirements, listing 4 GB GPUs that date as far back as 2013.

On PC, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will take up around 100 GB of storage. While the game will run off an HDD, faster SSD storage is preferable. The game will be a DirectX 12 title on PC, and appears to run best on PCs with eight CPU cores or more.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard PC System Requirements

Minimum:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: 64 bit Windows 10/11
Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970/1650 / AMD Radeon R9 290X
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 100 GB available space
Additional Notes: SSD Preferred, HDD Supported; AMD CPUs on Windows 11 require AGESA V2 1.2.0.7

Recommended:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: 64 bit Windows 10/11
Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2070 / AMD Radeon RX 5700XT
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 100 GB available space
Additional Notes: SSD Required; AMD CPUs on Windows 11 require AGESA V2 1.2.0.7

I really dont get where the hate comes from. For the game mind you, the hate for EA i get. I cant see any Wokeshit in the Gameplaytrailer. Yeah combat looks a bit dull, but its the start of the game where you havent a lot of skills and so on. In my opinion it looks very promising.

Any scant interest I had in the game evaporated when it was revealed that we could no longer control companions...That on top of reducing companions to just two.

That's seriously boring and given I have seen of the AI in past games, it leaves a lot to be desired.

The excuse that it is "too much for players to handle" is pathetic. It seems like they have forgotten what dragon age is about and its intended audience (who would have no such issues). Second, that's what pause is for, duh...

Smells of heavy "consolitis".
