downloading thru proxy and firewall

I'm using computers in our library, connected to their network and firewall.

Is there a way to download files from IRC, specifically the mIRC client? Show me pls.

Other than that, are there HTTP-based IRC programs that I may use as alternative?

yes. did you ever hear of someting called vnc? install on ur home computer, go to the java viewer from a browser at your library, connect, dl files there, and email over to shool when the dcc ends. download via gmail. (or whatever u use)
