Hacking Downgrade of 3DS okay but update to 9.2.0 also possible?

Hi there,

I got 3 2DS handhelds. One of them I could successfully downgrade to 9.2.0. the other 2 handhelds have a 8.X.X firmware.
Can I use the same process for downgrading to update them to 9.2.0? The menu shows Downgrade and Upgrade.

To be safe, I wanted to ask here before I do something wrong.

According to my knowledge updating to 9.2.0 is extremly risky and could brick the 3ds.Not sure how risky tbh, but it is definitely riskier.

Yes u can, with Smash Bros or via sysuptader, but using sysuptader have a little risk to brick.

I think creating a NAND Backup first before updating is the safest way.

I just upgraded from 9.0E to 9.2E on my New 3DS using a game cartridge.

I did it with Cooking Mama Bon Appetit.

If you are in a EURO or AUS region then Cooking Mama Bon Appetit or Gardening Mama Forest Friends will upgrade it to 9.2E.

If you are in Australia, luckily both these titles are on clearance at BigW for $15.

They are not big sellers so there should still be a few around.

Trust me except if you do something stupid like using files from a different region of your device or launch sysupdater not in devmode/pastamode, there are 0 chances of bricking in this way.

I think this way the browser won't be upgraded. Just the System FW

I updated 1 O3DS from 8.x to 9.2, and one 2DS from <something I can't remember> to 9.2. Both were fine using sysupdater.

I updated from 4.5 to 9.2 using "that iso site" post with Update pack to 9.2 (agb_firm...) using PASTA from rxtools and the normal Sysinstaller as cia. 0 problems

Yep, I also updated one 3DS and two 2DS units to 9.2.0 via sysupdater in devmode
