DOOM 64 has been rated for a re-release by PEGI

Following Bethesda's sudden release of the original trilogy of classic DOOM titles, another new tidbit of information has come to light, regarding the series. DOOM 64, which released in 1997--for as the name denotes, the Nintendo 64--has been rated by the European software board, PEGI. It was then quickly removed from sight on the PEGI webpage, but it was screenshotted by Gematsu prior to removal. The PEGI rating shows that the game had a release date of July 26, 2019, though it obviously didn't release yesterday alongside the other DOOM games. It also was rated for PC and PlayStation 4, and though no Xbox One or Nintendo Switch versions were rated, the latter platforms also lacked a PEGI rating for DOOM I, II, and 3, meaning DOOM 64 will still likely release for all modern platforms when it does inevitably launch.

My interest in Doom died with Doom 2 anyway.

I would honesty prefer an updated re-release of Duke Nuken 3D.
You mean the 20th anniversary world tour? The rushed re-release with terrible updates to the one liners?... And an awful new episode with little to offer? Not to mention the shoddy performance and forced V Sync on PC... They could have used the eduke32 source as a starting as it functions so much better and can utilize an HD pack. As long as pitchford owns the rights, don't expect anything good. He's a clown who only cares about himself.

So what is different about this doom than the ones they just released yesterday? Aren't those old doom games on the consoles a port of some kind? So there the same game right?
No. Doom 64 is a new game in its own right. Updated and new weapons, enemies. Brand new levels and final boss. A nice dark and gloomy atmosphere with amazing ambience.

Fingers crossed that it comes out on pc and all consoles like the other Doom games have done so far. Recently I tried doom 64 and it was fun. It is a bit tougher than it seems even on the normal setting which provides a fair challenge.

Huh... I didn't know that. Just figured it was like the classic doom games but on console. Was every console doom game unique like Doom 64?

No. Doom on the PS1 was more of what we saw on PC but with sound effects altered and a few new levels. Not sure about how Final Doom worked out though.

try to find a full floppy set for doom 1 and doom 2 for 6.4£ lol, you're buying the game itself, not the hardware

flawed logic there m8889
you can get doom 3 bfg edition very very cheap i got it for like 8 euros with shipping from amazon lol it has doom, ultimate doom doom II with no rest for the living, doom 3 and doom 3 dlc, all on disc.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I would honesty prefer an updated re-release of Duke Nuken 3D.
you already got that lol

Duke nukem 3d 20th anniversary world tour on ps4/xb1, it even has a retail release, it has every episode even the console ones and a new episode, the 3d improvements and updated ps4 controls are great you can now dual aim preety damn well, i got it on disc on ps4 and i recomend it, shame there arent many 90s style FPs games, maybe that is why doom reboot got so much love the way it played is very rare nowadays where is all cutscenes and such instead of fast action packed games.

i liked the game, the game plays very well on consoles no idea about pc but i have no complains over it, sure the new episode doesnt fell like a new thing but hey its new content and replaying the original content with dual sticks was great imo.

The plot focuses on the events following the original Doom/Doom II/Final Doom storyline.

so really it's the real doom 3

Short version. No. Doom 64 was the only out and out unique one.

The official console ports vary widely in quality, some such that I would say if you played those then you did not play Doom and probably ought to get the PC version or a decent modern port of its source code (such as the XBLA and PSN versions) and then run through those, but they were all recognisable as Doom.

You have things like the XBLA Doom II port that included a new episode which would technically make it an official episode ( https://doomwiki.org/wiki/No_Rest_for_the_Living ). But if we are doing that then we have to look at the PS1 version (also ported to the Saturn, albeit badly) that included a few new levels.

Now if you had asked that question about Quake, Duke Nukem and Unreal we would be here all week.

Been playing with dual analog aiming since the 360 days. World tour feels much worse than 3DRs XBLA port from over a decade ago. I have it on the One and on PC. While it feels smoother and more responsive on the one, it's still very clear they rushed getting it out there. The new episode is absolutely dreadful. The level designs, enemy placement and lengths don't feel like a Duke game. The community has put out better content than this. Even Romeros 5th UDoom episode is better. The extra cameo was nice. Kinda laughed at it, actually. It's just not something I should have bought.. Let alone Twice

Every original version of the classic doom series getting a release on modern hardware?...So is quake next? The original unreal tournament would be nice too! Not sure whom owns unreal tournament now. Did Microsoft get the IP rights to the series with gears?, the original gears of war was originally announced as unreal tournament story edition.

Well... I actually meant something decent. World tour doesn't add anything new but the new level that most people seems to think it sucks. And apparently doesn't include any levels of the official Duke Nuken 3D expansion pack cd.
